How do you Nourish your self ?

When your world is crumbling and you don’t know how to get out a dark hole, How Do You Nourish Your Mind, Body, and Soul ?

I kept trying and trying and nothing worked for years and years, literally tried so many modalities 🤷‍♀️

For years, I lived in a state of survival. Decades of depression, high-functioning anxiety, and functional freeze defined my daily existence. I relied on antidepressants to cope for way too many years, moving through life but never truly feeling free. And then came grief—raw, unfiltered grief—when I lost my sister while caring for my five-week-old baby. That loss shattered me, but it also unlocked buried memories of childhood sexual abuse, forcing me to embark on a journey I hadn’t asked for but desperately needed which is why my vision to open a mental health hub which focussed on wholeness of self Nook & Nourish Nook & Nourish

Nourishing my mind, body, and soul became the cornerstone of my healing—a way to not just survive but to start living. Here’s what that journey looked like and the practices that transformed my life:

🫶🏼Nourishing My Mind

Mindset shifts were my first step toward healing.
🦞Finding a trauma-informed therapist gave me tools to process the memories and grief.
🦞I had to learn how to talk to myself with kindness instead of judgment. This wasn’t easy, but it became a daily practice.
🦞Instead of seeing myself as broken, I began seeing my resilience and courage as a testament to my strength.

🫶🏼Nourishing My Body

I realised that my body had been carrying my pain since being a toddler . Healing meant learning how to reconnect with it.

somatic exercises, and fascia release became my lifelines, helping me release tension and stored trauma.
• walking meditation, taught me how to regulate my nervous system.
• Listening to My Body: I started asking my body what it needed—whether it was rest, nourishment, or grounding—and honouring its answers.

🫶🏼Nourishing My Soul

Grief and trauma disconnected me from my sense of self, but reconnecting with my soul brought me back to life.
• Community and Connection: Surrounding myself with women who understood my journey gave me a sense of belonging and hope
• Nature: Walking, sea dipping, and feeling the earth beneath my feet reminded me of my place in the world and brought moments of peace.

Healing isn’t linear it’s my daily commitment to nourishing all parts of yourself. This process has brought me from a place of survival to a life that feels fuller, more authentic, and aligned.

At Nook & Nourish, I’ve created a space for others to embark on their own journeys of healing and transformation. It’s about finding what nourishes you—mind, body, and soul—and learning to thrive, no matter where you’re starting from.
